Limp TDI Golf

We were called out to Enfield to look at a MK4 Golf  TDI which had kept on going into limp mode

The owner had carried out a timing belt change and was expecting the timing to be the cause of the car underperforming

After a quick VCDS scan, we pinpointed the issue with the MAF (or Mass Air Flow Meter)

The usual “Man with Vagcom” would have told the customer that the MAF was the cause and walked away however we swapped the MAF with a known working replacement and the fault reoccured

We checked the wiring to the MAF and we noticed that the wiring going to the MAF was perished which was triggering the fault. After we repaired this (in the dark and in freezing conditions!) we had the car running back to optimum performance. After a test drive the customers face told us that our job here was done!

We also supplied & fitted a TT rear view mirror to the customers car. This is a bolt on fit and popular with dubbers as its black in colour and slightly rounded.

2010 Audi A4… In the need of Vagwerkes

We were contacted by a body shop who needed some help with a 2010 Audi A4 2.7 V6 TDI

The car was involved in a minor front end shunt which resulted in the airbags being deployed

After the airbag and controllers were replaced, a fault was still showing on the dashboard

Unfortunately the body shop only had access to a “snap-on” generic fault code finder which was not much help with newer cars.

We repaired the airbag loom which was causing the issue and cleared the fault memory.

We also discovered that two relays were not fitted in the correct position which was causing the vehicle to drive in “limp mode”

From Nottingham… With Dub … x

We were contacted by an enthusiast from Nottingham who was having issues with his speedo on his Golf V6 2.8 4motion

A replacement set of instrument clusters was needed by the owner and after seeking help from his local mechanic, he had no choice but to contact the Vagwerkes team.

The keen dubber travelled from Nottingham to East London where we replaced his clocks with a set of Bora Sport clocks which had miles to empty and lit pointers enabled – which we supplied. We also enabled autowindows

we also diagnosed a Lambda issue which needed replacing as well as a faulty fan.

SEAT Leon gets the Werkes

We take pride in all of our work however we come across certain jobs which take our work to another level making us a touch above the rest.

A customer from Wolverhampton contacted the vagwerkes team.

He is a proud owner of a 2004 Seat Leon PD150 however as a regular motorway traveller, he wanted to add some creature comforts for his cockpit pleasure

A custom instrument cluster was requested which had to have the classic Golf blue illumination

After some research, we put together this very special set of clusters which consist of parts from the Golf, Passat, Seat Leon and Audi S3 range of instrument clusters

The clocks consist of the rare later spec Passat full screen board along with the foils and chrome rings which have been modified to fit

we let the pictures do the talking!
